safety first
We encourage a “safety-first” mentality by reinforcing the message to existing staff and training each new employee to uphold safety standards and to follow procedures that encourage a safe working environment. When an incident occurs, we learn from it. We perform an in-depth investigation and take actions that will prevent future incidents. This may include re-training, a change in a process, or even purchasing new tools, guarding or equipment.

We engage our employees in a collaborative culture by creating ownership and pride. Here are several examples:
OSHA 30
All management obtains a 30 hour OSHA training certificate.
CPR/First Aid
All management receives a one day training certificate through a certified and accredited training institution.
LOTO
Technical staff are trained and authorized to perform LOTO. All team members are considered affected by LOTO and received LOTO orientation.
Material Handler Certification
Safety rules and expectations are taught through hands-on walk throughs as well as theory and practical training. There is a 90-day observation window before permanent licensing and material handler audits are conducted routinely.

Our new hire orientation process includes an extensive review of safety protocols and procedures including Dakkota policies, general safety rules and hazard awareness, forklift & pedestrian safety, personal protection equipment, emergency preparedness and response, and safety incident reporting and fast response.

All skilled trades and maintenance employees receive training specific to their skills such as working at heights, LOTO, arc flash and hot work, confined space, and machine guarding.
